Included on our list of things to do this summer was a backyard fire pit with marshmallows. The kids had a great time with this activity. Especially since I found these huge marshmallows at the craft store.

We had to draw a circle around the fire pit for safety (and my sanity) and Emmett found a way to get as close to the fire as possible without violating the rule. They make me laugh even when they are pushing the limits.

Henry has a handle on his little sister and brother. Since he had just finished safety town he was pretty excited to "guard" the two of them.
Here is Henry sandwiched between Beth and his friend Olivia from pre-school at Safety town graduation. I can't say that he loved it - there was a lot of "boring coloring and talk talk talking" - but he certainly learned a lot of things. I hope his kindergarten teacher doesn't lean too heavily on art as a learning vehicle!
